  "Secret Watchtower" - No, there is NO Secret Watchtower

  so as not to hijack other threads, i still can't understand why people keep referring to the new, "members only" watchtower as "secret?".

  if you go to the meeting, you will get a copy.

  if you have a family member, you can get a copy.

  Rub, you are right, that the word "secret" is not completely true. This publication is free to get in the KH for study.

  But,

  Can a JW unbelieving husband (who does not go to the meeting) get one?

  Can person aproached in a FS get one?

  Can JWs friend, neighbour, workmate ask for one just to see?

  Can any Bible-scholar get one just to check JW beliefs?

  Official policy as presented in KH - NO WAY!

  If I am not allowed to obtain some information, i consider the information as a secret. (I am sure you have some proper word for it in english....) But I dont want to argue over words.

  Who really supports "the work"?

  i've been thinking alot about all the threads here regarding the bethel lay-offs.

  i'd imagine that those laid off will have to rely on their families or social safety nets to help them out.. my man is a successful fader, but his family are all super-jw's.

  parents pioneering in a foreign land, youngest pioneering where the need is great, oldest sibling is on the fast track to being a co. my man went to university and is in the upper-wage earning tax bracket.

  In my country (in eastern Europe) it is generally understood and accepted, that the "work" is being suported by the rich brothers in America.... So is that right????

  Question for JW - Why do you have a "secret" WT edition?

  recently i asked my wife: if our son one day comes home and says "well, i just joined new religion, we study a publication there, that iam not allowed to show anybody..." how would you feel?

  does it sound like a cult?.

  wife admitted: that would be scarry..... me: so why do jw have secret wt edition to study, that noone else is supposed to get?.

  Wife admitted: That would be scarry....

  Me: So why do JW have secret WT edition to study, that noone else is supposed to get?

  Wife: Because its so deep, people wouldnt understand it....

  Me: Well, maybe some wouldnt understand it, but many scholars would like to study it without visiting meetings... Why you cannot give it to them?

  Wife: I dont actually know....

  MY IDEA: Ask your JW same question. If you are offered WT on the street, reject the public issue and ask for the "secret" study edition. Grill them to explain you, why they are not allowed to give it to you.... Do they hide something? Do they think you are to stupid to understand their wisdom?

  at a recent circuit assembly a circuit overseer gave an awesome talk during the portion, 'giving attention to the needs of the circuit.

  and with such a high pricetag, please don't let it be empty.

  Funny logic:

  Opera, university expensive - seats full

  KH for free - seats empty

  He meant: you damned bastrds are so unthankful......

  But reality is:

  People really want to se opera, study university - so they are willing to pay big money for it

  Nobody wants to listen the BS in the KH even for free - so the seats are empty.

  That simple for me....

  How can I explaine my wife SHE IS NOT a JW???

  my wife was raised in an ultra hardcore jw family, and together with me served faithfully for many years to hojovah..... now, due to my apostate influence educational efforts she:.

  went to a jw meeting only maybe 5 times in past year (just for the public talk)was not present at service meeting for almost 2 yearsmissed most conventionsdoesnt object our son going to birthday partiesdoesnt object christmass decorations in our housepacks christmass gifts in christmass wrapping paperread crisis of consciene and basicly agrees with the bookagrees, that most jw policies are unbiblical and falsewas not in house to house service for several yearsand so and so.... actually i do not find on her and her behaviour anything what makes normally a person a jw... but she still believes she is one!.

  its kind a schizophrenia for her, she doesnt know what her position is.... .

  Designer - welcome on the board! Intresting you have similar situation...! When you talk of kids - the funny things is my wife is in fact not a real witness anymore, but she would like to get our kids to become JW!!! But as you say it will never happen...

  and so and so.... actually I do not find on her and her behaviour anything what makes normally a person a JW... but she still believes she is one!

  Would you tell such person straght she actually is not a JW anymore? Could that push her guilt feelings and direct her back to borg? Or it could help her to understand that its over and she is out .....

  during the dark days of the second world war , the monsters that ran a concentration camp decided to hang a child.. they hung the poor little chap so that it took half an hour for him to die, all the while making the other inmates look into the face of the child.. where was your god then ?

  was he not strong enough to do anything or did he just not care ?.

  if the first then he is a very weak god, if the second then,.

  is it really some organized group in us, or its just a joke?.

  in my country here in europe they organize meetings, have talks, were on tv, several times in the newspaper.... have you met any real person believing in it?
